"We Hope This Aviation Industry Crisis Will Be Resolved Quickly"
RH Travel comments on the global Microsoft outage related to the Blue Screen of Death on Friday
The massive Microsoft outage that paralyzed operations for many companies worldwide on Friday has unfortunately impacted RH Travel's connection with the booking functionality of global distribution systems.
"Since early this morning, we've experienced difficulties in receiving content from GDS providers such as Amadeus and Galileo, and there have been disruptions in our work with ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation)," says Andrey Gogu, CTO at RH Travel. "Fortunately, the computer systems at RH Travel's headquarters and regional offices were not affected by the so-called Blue Screen of Death that hit various airlines and major global distribution systems today."
According to AP, the widespread Microsoft outage disrupted flights, banks, media outlets, and companies around the world on Friday.
"I apologize to our clients for the situation that has arisen globally today," says Igor Kopmar, Founder and CEO of RH Travel. "But there is good news: we are receiving reports that the cause of the global outage has been identified, so we hope this crisis will be resolved quickly. I want to assure everyone that we are ready to resume normal operations at any moment—now it all depends on when our partners restore their systems' functionality."
